Chapter 2: Going Home -Part 1-

Amai squealed with delight, upon seeing her reflection. "So cute!" She exclaimed, twirling in her turquoise work uniform, her hair up in pig-tails. Ryou came in, guessing she had finished changing by her high pitched squeals. "That actually looks good on you" He said, leaning against the doorframe, before straightening up and walking over to her. His fingers brushed through one of her pig-tails. "You should wear your hair up. It looks nice." He observed, as her face turned scarlet red.

Luckily, Keiichiro entered, Ryou turning away from Amai, his hand falling to his side in a relaxed manor. "My my, Miss Fusen-Gamu! You look stunning!" Keiichiro exclaimed, kneeling down and kissing her hand. Though glad that the awkward moment between her and Ryou was over, Amai still remained a deep red colour, however she giggled and gave a curtsey. "Why, thank you, kind Sir" She said, in a posh accent.

Ryou came over to Keiichiro and asked, "What's the time?" Keiichiro looked at his watch. "6:30" He replied to Ryou, before standing up. "You should probably go home for now, Amai. It's to late to do any work, so there's no point in staying here later. All the other Mews have already left." He told her. "And you're parents will be worried"

Amai's face saddened and she nodded, placing a fake smile on her face. Ryou noticed this and frowned. Is there something wrong with her home? He wondered, watching her as she walked out. Keiichiro went after her, and escorted her to the door, before politely opening it for her. "We'll see you tomorrow at 4:00, okay?" To which Amai nodded, before waving good-bye, still in her work outfit. Keiichiro shut the door behind her, before turning to speak to Ryou. "She'll make a good addition, don't you think Ryou?" He asked, before opening his eyes. No one was there. "Ryou?"

Amai sighed as she walked. It was a warm evening, and she felt relaxed even after the hectic day she had just been through. But she couldn't help the depressing feelings that sat in her stomach. She hated going home. She loathed going back to that place. She was so distracted, Amai didn't notice the little grey cat, following behind her. Finally, she came to a stop in a rather deserted part of town. She turned to her left, gazing at the broken gates of the orphanage. Her home.

A place full of people just like her, though she didn't even fit in with them. They taunted her, and bullied her. Not only because of her. But because of how she came to be in the orphanage.

"My father murdered my mother, then committed suicide." She informed Ryou, who had transformed back into a human, as he walked toward her, his hands in his pockets.

"I see…" He replied simply, his voice soft and almost sympathetic. Amai nodded, before smiling at him, waving her hand. "Well, see you!" She said, turning away as she pushed open the gate. Suddenly, Ryou's arm wrapped around her waist, and her pulled her away as an explosion sounded.

When Amai opened her eyes, she was held in Ryou's arms, as if he were shielding her. She followed his gaze, that landed on the spot she had been standing. The spot now occupied by four aliens. One of them stepped forward.
